Job summary

EFW Radiology in Calgary, Alberta is seeking an X-Ray Technologist to support patients as you graduate. The role involves performing X-ray, fluoroscopy and mammography exams, and delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Reporting to the X-Ray/Mammography Supervisor, you will verify patient history, ensure safety, and produce high-quality diagnostic images while adhering to privacy policies and radiation safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate from a recognized Medical Radiation Technology program.
• Ability to get CAMRT/ACMDTT registration and license to practice in Alberta.
• Ability to consistently produce excellent radiographic images.
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities.
• Effective communication skills and a commitment to compassionate patient care.
• Proficiency in RIS software and other relevant technologies.

Responsibilities

• Operates or oversees operation of radiologic imaging equipment to produce high quality diagnostic images.
• Verifies patient history and relevant information prior to beginning exam.
• Communicates with patients in a professional manner explaining procedures and observing the patient during the examination to ensure safety and comfort.
• Assesses and evaluates X-ray, fluoroscopic or mammographic images to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
• Ensures radiation safety measures and protection devices are used in accordance with government regulations to ensure safety of patients and staff.
• Adheres to privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates EFW values of Compassion, Trust, and Meaning in the workplace.
• Subspecialty Training Opportunities in Mammography, Breast US, and MSK Pain Management.
• Undertakes additional duties as assigned.
