Maples Surgical Centre, a division of Clearpoint Health Network, is accepting applications for X-Ray Technician.

Wage: $36 / hr - $40 / hr

Position Summary

The Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) is the responsible user of all radiology equipment and performs a variety of standard technical radiological examinations, including fluoroscopy. They prepare and assess patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety, and produce high-quality diagnostic images for physician review. In addition, the MRT is responsible for the care and maintenance of all radiology equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the radiology equipment and auxiliary equipment function correctly and are maintained properly.
  • Follow documented safe operating procedures for the equipment.
  • Practices effective radiation protection, infection control, and safety techniques as applicable.
  • Handle all personal information and all personal health information according to the appropriate governing privacy legislation.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control activities according to equipment manufacturer’s instructions and all applicable industry standards.
  • Ensure all images are saved and filed in the appropriate medical record.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program.
  • Active registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
  • Previous experience with fluoroscopy in an operating room environment.
