A healthcare service organization is seeking an experienced X-Ray Technician in Red Lake, Ontario. Candidates must be a Qualified Medical Radiation Technologist, registered with CAMRT, and have a commitment to patient safety. Qualifications & Education :

  • Qualified Medical Radiation Technologist; graduate of a recognized training school
  • Registration with CAMRT
  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario
  • Maintain active registry with 25 CME credits annually
  • Previous experience is an asset

Duties & Responsibilities :

  1. Perform routine and special procedure X-Rays as requested by medical staff.
  2. Select positions and operate equipment for examinations, providing proper patient care.
  3. Provide Holter and Event Loop Recorder Monitoring.
  4. Assess diagnostic quality of radiographs; record findings and notify doctors of pathologies or STAT reads.
  5. Use radiation protection methods per ALARA principles to ensure safety for all.
  6. Maintain X-ray and CR equipment, dealing with minor breakdowns.
  7. Record equipment issues.
  8. Keep the work area clean.
  9. Manage department operations, including appointments, office procedures, and document preparation.
  10. Participate actively in quality assurance programs.
  11. Work on a rotational basis or as scheduled, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  13. Understand CR and PACS systems.
