About the Role – Writer’s Room Server Assistant

We are seeking a hardworking, detail-oriented, and service-driven Server Assistant to join our team at the Writer’s Room , Park Hyatt Toronto’s iconic rooftop lounge. In this role, you will support the service team by maintaining cleanliness, resetting tables, and ensuring seamless guest experiences that align with Forbes 5-Star standards .

To succeed in this fast-paced environment, the ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational skills, strong communication, and a genuine passion for delivering elevated service with grace and care. Your role will be essential in helping us maintain the refined ambiance and guest-focused excellence our lounge is known for.

Key Responsibilities:

• Warmly welcoming patrons, escorting them to their tables, and providing menus as needed.
• Supporting the service team by delivering food to tables during high-volume periods.
• Clearing used plates, glassware, and utensils promptly and efficiently.
• Transporting dirty tableware to the dishwashing area and ensuring cleanliness of service stations.
• Preparing tables for new guests by wiping surfaces, replacing linens, resetting cutlery and condiments, and ensuring overall table readiness.
• Wrapping utensils in napkins to maintain presentation standards.
• Serving complimentary snacks or beverages as appropriate.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the server station; restocking supplies throughout the shift.
• Responding promptly and politely to guest requests or concerns and informing management of any issues.
• Assisting with rearranging tables and chairs to accommodate large parties or special seating requests.
• Performing end-of-day duties such as removing trash, sanitizing menus, and organizing supplies.

• Service focused personality is essential
• Previous fine dining or luxury level service knowledge and training.
• Minimum 2 year previous work experience in a world-class luxury brand in a similar capacity.
• Current Smart Serve certification.
• Must have a flexible schedule, be highly motivated and quality driven
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be able to lift up to 50-lbs
• Constant walking & standing
• Frequent lifting, crouching/bending/stooping/kneeling
