Job summary

Comairco in Laval is seeking a proactive Workshop Coordinator to help manage our compressor workshop. You will report to the Workshop Supervisor, plan and coordinate activities, open and track work orders, and keep technical data up to date.

You will collaborate with Parts, Service, Rentals and Sales to quote repairs, manage purchasing for work orders, and maintain strong relationships with customers. Bilingual French/English is required for about 30% of interactions.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience coordinating workshop operations.
• Excellent adaptability, autonomy, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English for about 30% of interactions.
• Knowledge of the compressed air industry is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate workshop activities by defining tasks and projects.
• Prepare and manage equipment repair quotes and follow up on projects.
• Open and manage workshop work orders.
• Maintain up-to-date technical data sheets for rental compressors.
• Update the work-in-progress board and monitor orders in AX.
• Review and approve technicians’ hours for billing.
• Issue purchase orders for work orders and suppliers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers.
• Collaborate with Parts, Service, Rentals and Sales.
• Ensure efficient parts management and timely closing of orders.
• Promote cross-department communication with customers.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for:

• Planning and coordinating workshop activities by defining and assigning tasks and projects to optimize team productivity
• Preparing and managing equipment repair quotes and following up on special projects with customers
• Opening and managing workshop work orders
• Keeping the technical data sheets for rental compressors up to date
• Updating the work-in-progress board
• Monitoring work orders in AX and ensuring the accuracy of the information entered in the system
• Reviewing and approving technicians’ working hours for billing purposes
• Issuing purchase orders for work orders and local suppliers
• Developing and maintaining lasting business relationships with customers
• Working closely with the Parts and Service, Rentals, and Sales departments
• Ensuring the efficient management of parts used in the workshop and the timely closing of work orders
• Promoting effective communication between departments and with customers (Sales, Service, and Billing)
• Performing any other related duties associated with the position
