Training, Education & Awareness

- Deliver or coordinate safety-related training programs such as WHMIS, First Aid/CPR, fire safety, and respiratory protection fit testing.

- Assist with onboarding safety orientation for new hires and provide refresher education to support ongoing competency and compliance.

- Track safety training records, certifications, and compliance metrics using the organization's learning management or reporting systems.

- Promote staff engagement in safety through targeted campaigns, toolbox talks, and participation in Safety Week or wellness initiatives.

Incident Management & Investigation

- Support the initial response, documentation, and investigation of workplace incidents, injuries, and near misses.

- Collaborate with supervisors and the safety team to identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and follow up on implementation.

- Assist in developing trend reports and incident dashboards to inform strategic improvements and identify recurring safety issues.

Internal Collaboration & Committee Participation

- Act as a safety liaison to frontline teams, supervisors, and union representatives to address concerns and provide technical guidance.

- Serve as a resource for Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) activities, including inspections, meetings, and policy reviews.

- Participate in emergency preparedness planning, evacuation drills, and response evaluations.

- Support the development of monthly and quarterly safety performance reports for leadership and regulatory bodies.

- Contribute to the evaluation and refinement of safety programs using performance data, benchmarking, and stakeholder feedback.
