Your Opportunity:
The Working Leader, Recreation Facilities role is within the Alberta Hospital Edmonton’s (AHE) Patient Experience Recreation team. The Working Leader supports patients through engagement opportunities in Evening Recreation and site-based events. This role supervises and supports Activities Convenors within the team. AHE serves individuals experiencing mental health and addiction concerns in acute and rehabilitative care models. As part of the Patient Engagement program, the successful candidate will facilitate a variety of leisure-based activities under the leadership of the Care Manager for Allied Health & Patient Experience. This recovery-focused role requires strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Collaboration with volunteer services and community stakeholders is essential. Description:
As a Working Leader Rec Facilities, you will oversee all functions of the Recreation Facilities Program, including maintaining directives, procedures, products, and equipment. You will supervise, train, and evaluate staff, organize schedules and programs, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulations.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Valid Heart & Stroke Foundation BLS-HCP. Valid Emergency First Aid. Experience with individual and group program facilitation. Knowledge of recovery-oriented care and rehabilitation models. The position is physically demanding; candidates must be able to lift 30-40 lbs, walk up to 5 km, and tolerate prolonged standing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Post-secondary diploma in a related health field or equivalent. Experience combined with education may be considered. Punctuality, dependability, and good attendance are essential, verifiable by references.
