Job description

100% Remote Role

Job Description:

Reporting to the Team Manager, you are responsible for managing WSIB claims and facilitating return to work while working on-site for a client with locations in Cambridge and Woodstock. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, your responsibilities will be to maintain contact with WSIB to ensure timely and appropriate decisions are made with respect to entitlement-related matters.

Your responsibilities include:
Managing workplace injury claims, minimizing time-loss and claim costs through early intervention and proactive co-ordination of services.
Ensuring regular and open lines of communication with all Stakeholders (workers, clients, partner vendors, and the provincial Boards)
Liaising with the provincial Workers’ Compensation Boards
Reviewing claim files and proactively managing return to work efforts.
Interpreting provincial workers’ compensation legislation, policies, and procedures and ensuring decisions are made in accordance with such.
Identifying appeal issues and drafting letters of objection
Coordinating case management activities including monitoring return to work and rehabilitation strategies

Qualifications:
Work experience in a workers’ compensation claims management either in an in-house capacity at a private company or in a third-party consulting capacity with corresponding knowledge of workers’ compensation statutes, policies and procedures, and workplace health and safety would be an asset.
Strong level of oral and written communication skills, and ability to work within a demanding and fast paced environment.
Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Additional Assets:
Post-Secondary Education, preferably in a related field, or a human resource and/or health and safety and/or insurance certificate-designation are assets.
In the absence of these qualifications, significant consideration will be given to applicants with claims management experience.
Paralegal license would be an asset but is not a requirement.
