Job summary

LeverageTek is seeking a Workday Configuration Lead to manage benefits and pension configurations for an 18-month contract in Ottawa. LeverageTek is actively seeking a Workday Configuration Lead (Benefits and Pension) for an 18-month contract with its Ottawa based client.

Work Location

Hybrid Onsite 2 days a week in Ottawa – the client may be open to remote candidates depending on skill set and availability to travel to the Ottawa office if required

Security Clearance:

Must be Eligible for Enhanced Reliability Clearance

Key Tasks

  • Lead will ensure that all plans, payroll deductions, eligibility, vendor interfaces, etc. are delivered according to project schedule.
  • Lead the configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday Benefits module features and enhancements.
  • Partner with HR and benefits teams to manage annual Events and day-to-day life event processes.
  • Ensure that employee on-boarding includes benefits enrollment elections and/or default coverage
  • Maintain and troubleshoot integrations between Workday and third-party benefits vendors (e.g., Canada Life, Sutton, Aon).
  • Manage eligibility rules, benefit plan setup, and related business processes in Workday.
  • Identify system defects or inefficiencies prior to go-live, and coordinate solutions with stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Conduct regression testing during Workday updates or when making configuration changes.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, system processes, and end-user support.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex benefit-related issues requiring technical analysis.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, HR users and IT to assess change impacts during the project
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Provide post-production support during the warranty period.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5+ years of recent experience working with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) including recent hands-on experience with Workday.
  • Recent and demonstrated experience in Systems Requirements Management related to Workday and specifically with benefits and knowledge focused on Canadian benefits.
  • Strong background and experience with requirements-based testing supporting UAT and Systems Integration Testing with the Workday HR Management System.

Qualifications:

  • One or more of the following Workday Partner/Customer Certifications: Workday Benefits, Workday HCM Core, or Workday Payroll
  • Experience developing and implementing HRIS System process improvements
  • Experience in design thinking, user centered design, human centered design
