The Workday platform is crucial to TMX's strategy, used globally for HR, payroll, performance, compensation, financial accounting, budgeting, spend/procurement, invoicing, and project management. It integrates with banks, benefit providers, and internal systems like ServiceNow. Workday updates twice a year, requiring core users to test new versions. The Workday Financials Administrator, reporting to the Director Corporate Cloud Applications, supports the Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning platforms through integration development, business analysis, advanced support, and reporting, addressing daily production, enhancement requests, and projects.

Job Summary:

The Workday Financials Administrator supports the Workday Financials Architect by managing Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning solutions. This includes gathering requirements, optimizing processes and configurations, understanding product releases, overseeing regression testing, supporting training, ensuring seamless data integration, maintaining data integrity, and acting as a subject matter expert for Adaptive Planning, while staying updated on features and ensuring best practices.


This role is Hybrid (2 - 3 days in office) - we are open to candidates being located in one of our office locations: Toronto, Montreal, Calgary or Vancouver


Key Accountabilities:
Integrations and Security:

  • Work with developers to build, test and deploy integration solutions between Workday and 20+ internal/external platforms

  • Support Workday integration code including Studio, EIB and supporting 3rd party coding in production and testing environments in conjunction with our internal developers and vendor partners

Security:

  • Develop & understand the Workday/Adaptive Planning security model

  • Lead and support security module requirements, design, configuration, development, operations, and maintenance

  • Troubleshoot security and reporting issues, performing hands-on security group, domain, and user configurations

  • Recommend and implement best security practices for end-to-end business processes

  • Perform ongoing security audits, maintain controls, and analyze impact from new needs or system upgrades.

Business Analysis & Advanced Support:

  • Develop broad knowledge of various functional areas in Workday and their interdependencies

  • Research and understand new features or functionality as requested in order to provide feedback and recommendations on the best approach to achieve desired outcome

  • Understand users requirements relating to identified issues, proposed enhancements & feature requests

  • Implement required changes, enhancements & features, including assistance with the development of test scenarios relating to the requested changes

  • Configure and implement new functionality in multiple environments and support testing

Report Administration:

  • Develop and test reports using calculated fields, matrix/composite reports and other reporting technologies in Workday

  • Build knowledge on Workday reporting and dashboards coordinate a reporting peer review team across functional areas

  • Quality peer review of reports generated with the other functions (Ensure use of consistent data objects, calculations, etc to yield consistent results when reporting on the same types of data)

  • Ensure testing protocol compliance from report writers in business before releasing reports to production

Domain Knowledge Requirements:
Knowledge of basic accounting practices, Quote to Cash processes including invoices, procurement processes, bank reconciliation, and planning processes.

Other:
Assist with adoption planning (continuous improvement) backlog maintenance
Assist with release preparation and tracking related user testing

Must Have(s):

  • 5+ years Workday Financials or financial ERP implementation/configuration

  • Proficient in report writing and dashboard development

  • Collaborative, builds relationships, and analyzes requirements

  • Solution-oriented with minimal guidance

  • Proactive Workday Community researcher

  • Excellent time management; manages multiple projects

  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
