Overview

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Workday Consultant with a strong background in

Absence Management to support our HR technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will

lead the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday Absence

Management solutions in alignment with business requirements. This is a 6-month

contract with a hybrid work model based out of Toronto (1–2 days / week onsite), but we

welcome applicants from anywhere in Canada.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on experience as a Workday Consultant with a focus on Absence

Management.

Proven experience in Workday configuration and support, specifically in Absence-

related functionality.

Strong understanding of HR business processes, policies, and compliance

requirements.

Experience working in complex, cross-functional project environments.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Workday certification in Absence Management is a strong asset.

Prior experience with hybrid working models and supporting distributed teams is

preferred.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role with 1–2 days / week onsite in Toronto.

Open to candidates across Canada, but Toronto-based candidates are preferred.

Competitive daily / hourly rates based on experience.

Requirements

Lead the implementation and / or enhancement of Workday Absence Management

functionality.

Work closely with HR, Payroll, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and translate

them into system configurations.

Configure and optimize Absence plans, accruals, time offs, eligibility rules, and business

processes in Workday.

Conduct impact analysis and support integrations with other Workday modules (e.g.,

Time Tracking, Payroll, Core HCM).

Perform unit testing, regression testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).

Provide guidance on best practices and ensure compliance with organizational and

legislative requirements.

Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide timely resolutions.

Develop and maintain documentation related to configuration, processes, and system

changes.

Train and support end users and HRIS team members as needed.
