Field Service Technician

SMS Equipment is growing! We are looking for a Shop Mechanic to join our team! In this role, you will find solutions, make safety a priority, and work with the largest, most advanced earthmoving equipment. You will be at the forefront helping to keep those machines, and the industry they service, moving! This role is located in Chicoutimi.

The shift for this role is 5x2.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Determine the extent of the mechanical problem and perform repairs.
• Order required parts.
• Adjust, repair, and/or replace defective parts.
• Perform other regular maintenance.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess a Heavy Equipment Mechanic Certification. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Other requirements include:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction equipment mechanics or equivalent.
• Other training certifications an asset: WHMIS, overhead crane operator, forklift operator certification.
• Good knowledge of hydraulics and hydrostatic systems.
• Experience and knowledge of Komatsu products an asset.
• Punctual, autonomous, proactive, and a team worker.
• Sound health and safety practices.
