This posting is for one (1) Permanent position and one (1) Temporary position that may continue until October 31, 2025.

The Edmonton Police Service requires two (2) organized, detail-oriented, flexible individuals to provide administrative services to the 24/7 Charge Support Units of the Detainee Charge & Care Branch. Responsibilities will include:

  • Intake Procedures and Bail package preparation for presentation at bail hearings.
  • Preparing information in JOIN.
  • Preparation of Warrant Summaries and verification of Outstanding Warrants.
  • Tracking and processing of incoming Charge files and follow-up reports.
  • Cross training with the other clerk positions within the Branch to ensure that the workflow is managed efficiently.
  • Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects with an emphasis on word and information processing, or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college, supplemented by training in basic microcomputer applications.
  • A minimum of two (2) years diversified word and information processing experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Able to enter data with a high degree of accuracy and speed.
  • Demonstrated self-initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with JOIN, EPROS, CPIC, and NICHE is an asset.
  • Experience reading and interpreting CPIC, NICHE and JOIN information would be considered an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mature individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Positive attitude.

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, in a rotational 24 hours a day, 7 day/week schedule (Varied 12-hour shifts).

Salary Range: 21B, Salary Grade: 007, $23.78 - $29.53 (Hourly), $1,903.00 - $2,362.70 (Bi-Weekly), $49,667.26 - $61,666.99 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
