Job summary

Irving Pulp & Paper Mill in Saint John, NB is seeking a Woodyard Relief Operator to provide relief coverage across field and heavy equipment operator positions, ensuring safe, reliable operation of the Woodyard in a 24/7 facility.

You will perform clean-up and general labour duties, operate equipment such as a Skidsteer, Excavator and Front End Loader, troubleshoot issues, and follow all safety and environmental requirements.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude is an asset.
• Strong organizational and communications skills.
• Team player with minimal supervision.
• Physically capable of manual labour.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 facility.

Job description

We are looking for a Woodyard Relief Operator to join our dynamic team at the Irving Pulp & Paper Mill in Saint John,New Brunswick. This hands-on role supports the safe and reliable operation of the Woodyard by providing relief coverage across field and heavy equipment operator positions. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced industrial environment, contribute to daily operational activities, and help keep wood-handling systems and equipment running effectively. This is an excellent opportunity for a dependable, safety-focused team player with heavy equipment training and a practical approach to problem-solving. As Irving Pulp & Paper operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, shift work is required in this position.
