Job summary

J.D. Irving is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator (Log Loader Operator) for our Woodlands Operations in Central New Brunswick. The role offers a competitive hourly salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will load, unload, and organize logs, ensuring daily targets are met while maintaining safety and equipment integrity. The position requires 1–2 years of heavy equipment operation experience, certification, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years of heavy equipment operation experience; experience with log loaders is an asset.
  • Valid equipment operator certification (or willingness to obtain through JDI training programs).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company policies, including lock-out procedures, equipment protocols, and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with other production tasks as required.
