Woodlands Accounting Assistant

Location: Lumby, British Columbia (preferred); Williams Lake, British Columbia; Slave Lake, Alberta (possible locations)

Our Woodlands Accounting Assistant is an essential team member responsible for entering contracts and preparing and processing woodlands contractor logging payments. We seek a detail-oriented administrative professional who is eager to learn and thrives under deadlines.

Join our Southern Interior Woodlands Division. Preference will be given to candidates based in Lumby, BC, but we also consider applicants from Williams Lake, BC, and Slave Lake, AB. Our team manages Tolko's tenure and fibre supply across 953,447 hectares in the Southern Interior of BC, committed to sustainable practices for community benefit.

Qualifications:

  • Two years relevant experience in administration or accounting.
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Excel.
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of the forest industry and woodlands activities is an asset.
  • Understanding of accounting practices.
  • Experience with the LIMS system / database is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in business or administration is an asset.

In your role, you will:

  • Set up contracts in LIMS for Timbermark and contractors regularly.
  • Process various informational reports.
  • Perform monthly GL account reconciliations, journal vouchers, and office duties.
  • Interface with internal and external contacts including vendors, contractors, truckers, scalers, CRA, and the Ministry of Forests.
  • Adopt a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Work independently as a resourceful team player.
