Based out of the Electrical Division Edmonton (EDE) location, the Wiring Technician II will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor of the Wiring department. The Wiring Technician II will be responsible for assisting the manufacturing process for various products and materials through electrical part installation. Current openings for this posting are for day shift positions.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Electrical part installation such as relays, meters, switches, etc.
  • Wiring tasks including anchoring, tie-wrapping, routing, push buttons, flagging, & wire tagging.
  • Crimping and wire/cable stripping.
  • Promote a safety culture and attend all safety meetings.
  • Ensure quality by following standard work/process instructions and identifying potential risks to product quality.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements - Core Competencies

  • Knowledge of hand, electric, air tools, and some vibrating tools.
  • Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable in task completion.
  • Ability to read prints including specification sheets, wiring diagrams, schematics, three-line drawings, wiring lists, and part drawings.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and coordinate with other departments.
  • Adhere to manufacturing policies and practices to ensure ISO compliance.
  • Basic proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to read and convert measurements using a tape measure.
  • Safety training certificates are an asset.

Working Conditions

  • Safety-sensitive role in a temperature-controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outdoor activities.
  • Must wear PPE at all times (hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses, respirators when necessary).
  • Ability to work from ladders and scaffolding of various types and heights.

Physical Requirements

  • Maintain body balance and agility to prevent falls during movement and work tasks.
  • Repetitive bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Continuous standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Climb stairs frequently.
  • Work with arms above shoulders and use hand tools for long periods.
