Based out of the Electrical Division Edmonton (EDE) location, the Wiring Technician will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor of the Wiring department. The Wiring Technician will be responsible for assisting the manufacturing process for various products and materials through electrical part installation. Current openings for this posting are for Day shift positions.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Electrical part installation such as relays, meters, switches, etc.
  • Wiring: anchoring, tie-wrapping, routing, push buttons, flagging, & wire tagging.
  • Crimping and wire/cable stripping.
  • Promote a safety culture and attend all safety meetings.
  • Ensure quality by following standard work/process instructions and identifying potential risks to product quality.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Job Requirements - Core Competencies
  • Knowledge of hand, electric, air tools, and vibrating tools.
  • Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable in task completion.
  • Ability to read prints including specification sheets, wiring diagrams, schematics, three-line drawings, wiring lists, and part drawings.
  • Effective team collaboration and interdepartmental communication.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to manufacturing policies and ISO requirements.
  • Basic proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-1 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to read a tape measure, including conversions between fractions and decimals.
  • Safety training certificates are an asset.
Working Conditions
  • Temperature-controlled environment with occasional outdoor activities.
  • Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses, respirators when required).
  • Ability to work from ladders and scaffolding, including at heights up to 30 feet.
Physical Requirements
  • Maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falls.
  • Repetitive bending, crouching, and arm extension.
  • Long periods of standing and walking.
  • Climb stairs frequently.
  • Work with arms above shoulders and exert force up to 50 lbs.
  • Use hand tools for extended periods with frequent repetition.
