Ledcor is hiring winter seasonal Patrollers to help keep our highways safe in Wawa, Ontario. This local role emphasizes community impact and requires readiness for varied shifts, including on-call and night work during the September–May season.

Responsibilities include patrolling highways, reporting road conditions, operating heavy equipment, and coordinating with leads to address priorities while maintaining health, safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• AZ or DZ license preferred and must have a minimum G license with a clear 3-year driving abstract
• Knowledge of provincial and/or municipal highway maintenance specifications
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Be approachable, ethical, and accountable
• Snow plow and loader experience is an asset
• Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word

• Recommend priority locations to address to your lead hand or shop supervisor
• Contact operators to bring on shift as required
• Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
• Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year‑round, including assisting with Labourer duties (pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
• Help ensure health, safety, and environment related concerns are addressed promptly

Work Conditions

• Local applicants will be given preference due to the location of the work
• As we respond to various weather patterns, some shift work, on-call, and night shift may be required in addition to scheduled patrols
• Seasonal work from September to May
• Accommodations and meal allowance available in Wawa, White River and Chapleau (No travel allowance)

Compensation

$18.90 - $27.00

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
