Job summary

Town of Tillsonburg is seeking three (4) Heavy Equipment Operators for winter control. You will operate heavy and light equipment, perform snow paving, and assist with road maintenance under the Roads Supervisor.

The role includes flexible shifts, 40 hours/week, and the possibility to enroll in the OMERS pension plan. A criminal record check is required, and safety training is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Minimum grade 12 or equivalent.
• Four (4) years’ experience in a Public Works or Operations environment.
• Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License with a DZ class endorsement.
• Chainsaw and Confined Space Certification an asset.
• Knowledge of OHSA and traffic control procedures in Public Works.
• Basic computer literacy (MS Office, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of heavy and light equipment safely.
• Perform winter snow clearing including plowing and salting.
• Inspect and repair culverts, catch basins, and sewers.
• Maintain traffic control and set up barricades as required.
• Report road conditions and damage to supervisor.
• Adhere to Town policies and safety practices.
