Job summary

TJX Canada is seeking a Merchandising Planning Analyst Co-op to support optimizing store-level product mix through data analysis, strategy tracking, and inventory monitoring.

You will participate in 3 weeks of Planning & Allocation School of Excellence (PASE), analyze sales data, and create weekly allocation strategies while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a hybrid setting at our Mississauga office.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing college diploma or university degree.
  • Ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative data for decision-making.
  • Strong problem-solving and collaborative abilities.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Support optimal store-level product mix through data analysis and weekly strategies.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities by analyzing sales and inventory data.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure plans are met and adjust allocations as needed.
  • Create weekly product allocation strategies leveraging sales trends and store demographics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and merchant partners.

Job Description

We’re looking for a Merchandising Planning Analyst Co-op to support creating an optimal mix at store level through analysis, maximizing profitable sales. You'll identify, recommend, and execute on business opportunities by analyzing sales and monitoring strategy implementation, blending data-driven and qualitative insights. This role involves tracking and interpreting inventory levels to ensure plans are met, creating weekly strategies for product allocation. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, tackle exciting challenges, and develop strategic decision-making skills. What You’ll Do

At TJX, Merchandising is comprised of two divisions – Planning & Allocation and Buying; together they work to drive sales and increase profit. Our Buyers are global travelers, sourcing from a universe of over 21,000 vendors and more than 100 countries to deliver amazing merchandise at an exciting value to our customers every day. They collaborate with Planning & Allocation to create the treasure hunt experience that we’re known for. You’ll have a direct impact as a Merchandise Planning Analyst.

  • Your journey begins with 3 weeks of training in our Planning & Allocation School of Excellence (PASE)
  • Supporting an optimal mix at store level through analysis to maximize profitable sales.
  • Identifies, recommends and executes on business opportunities, by analyzing sales and monitoring information that reflects strategy; measures results and provides recommendations.
  • Tracks and interprets inventory levels to ensure they are achieving plans by monitoring store sales, inventory, inventory to sales ratio and visiting stores.
  • Creates weekly strategies that will enable allocating products to the right stores at the right time by leveraging business tools to analyze department specific sales trends, inventory optimization, store volumes and demographics.
  • Collaborates regularly with sister banners, Merchant partners and key stakeholders.
About You
  • Currently pursuing a College Diploma or University degree.
  • Good business analytical skills and the ability to understand and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to aid in effective decision-making.
  • Solid problem-solving skills which include the ability to effectively and efficiently resolve issues.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal abilities to perform effectively in a collaborative and team-oriented environment, where partnering with others and building strong working relationships are critical.
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Office applications - Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook.
