Please note: This posting is for a 4-month Student Winter 2027 placement with a start date of January 11, 2027 and end-date of April 30, 2027. In order to be eligible for this Winter Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of April 2027; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April 2027), but you require the work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully.

What will you do?

Depending on your placement, you may:

  • Conduct external market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic initiatives
  • Support the development and refinement of business strategies and go-to-market plans
  • Analyze financial data and KPIs to identify growth opportunities and operational improvements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate strategic options and build business cases
  • Prepare executive presentations and strategic recommendations for senior leadership
  • Understand complex problems, identify market opportunities, and translate data into actionable recommendations for senior decision-makers
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Business, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel (i.e. macros/pivot tables/etc.) and Data visualization
  • Proficiency using Tableau, Confluence, Jira and/or SharePoint
  • Understanding of business fundamentals, financial analysis, financial modelling, data management, accounting principles and strategic business rationales
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and adjust to new challenges
  • Collaboration & Communication skills; cross-functional teamwork and stakeholder engagement across all roles
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
Nice-to-have:
  • Understanding of commercial banking, financial services and business fundamentals
  • Previous internship or project / program management experience in strategy, consulting or business development
  • Familiarity with banking, financial services, or commercial lending
  • Knowledge of RBC's business lines and/or competitive landscape
  • Experience leveraging AI tools for market research, data analysis and/or strategic insights
