RBC is offering a Winter 2027 Student placement in Global Procurement - Technology Sourcing in Ontario. The role supports Senior Procurement representatives in understanding RBC spend, supplier management, and contract processes.

You will draft, review contracts, mitigate risk, and assist end-to-end sourcing for assigned categories with a focus on data-driven decision making. The 4-month internship starts January 2027 and ends April 2027, located in Ontario.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on Supply Chain, Procurement, Law, Business Administration, Data Science, or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of RBC spend for multiple categories.
  • Support supplier management activities for RBC Business Units.
  • Draft, review and negotiate contracts; ensure contract standards are followed.
  • Assist the Procurement team in the acquisition of goods and services.
  • Develop performance metrics to measure supplier and sourcing effectiveness.
  • Evaluate potential cost savings from contract/relationship reviews.
  • Educate RBC units on the Supplier Management process.
  • Support data-driven decisions and analyses for sourcing.
  • Assist end-to-end sourcing for assigned categories and manage eRFx processes.
  • Ensure internal controls are followed in sourcing processes.

What is the opportunity?

Are you interested in the opportunity to work as an Intern for Global Procurement at RBC? By applying to this job posting, you will be considered for the Procurement Intern role available in RBC’s Global Procurement - Technology Sourcing team.

What will you do?

Working with Senior Procurement representatives your responsibilities may include the following:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of RBC spend for multiple categories.
  • Build in-depth Supplier Management knowledge and provide valuable support and guidance to RBC Business Unit with supplier management activities.
  • Participate in the drafting, review and negotiation of contracts for various products and/or services. Mitigate RBC risk exposure by ensuring that the RBC contract standards are followed.
  • Assist the Procurement team and businesses in the acquisition of goods and services.
  • Develop performance related metrics to measure and report upon RBC, Supplier and sourcing effectiveness.
  • Evaluate / recommend potential cost savings resulting from contract / relationship reviews.
  • Mitigate risk by educating RBC Business Units on the Supplier Management process.
  • Support, influence and challenge decisions based on data and insightful analyses.
  • Assist in managing end to end sourcing process for assigned categories including:
  • Manage eRFx processes as applicable.
  • Ensure established policies and practices (internal controls) are adhered to in the sourcing process:
    • Source Suppliers offering the best combination of price, service and quality.
    • Identify working groups and oversight boards ensuring representation from key stakeholders and impacted LOB.
    • Ensure mandatory due diligence is performed and accountable for reporting/tracking potential savings.
  • Continuously improves the end-to-end sourcing process.
  • Use spend information and category metrics to influence business groups to address key opportunities for demand management.

This posting is for a 4-months Winter 2027 Student placement with a start date of January 2027, and end date of April 2027. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of April 2027 ; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April 2027), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
