A DAY IN THE LIFE

In this position, you’ll perform scheduled service, fault analysis/troubleshooting, and potential main component or major repairs on wind turbines. You will work at heights and in confined spaces, while being exposed to the elements. A Journeyperson / Journeyman Electrician Red Seal certification is preferred. Typically, you will have shifts 5 days a week at 8-10 hours a day, with an on-call rotation for off-work hours (weekends). The team normally works in pairs or trios, climbing 1-2 turbines a day and traveling a minimum of 15% per year. This site has great opportunities for growth within Vestas.

  • You will need a safety-focused mindset and can identify solutions to issues through process of elimination.
  • Your positive attitude will contribute to your ability to work in a team environment, while being motivated and taking initiative in daily tasks.
  • You will have computer skills including email, Excel, Microsoft systems, Teams, and data entry.
  • You will bring a high school diploma or equivalent, along with at least a year of wind experience OR 2-3 years of experience in transferable mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical work.
