A DAY IN THE LIFE

In this position you’ll use your skills and experience to perform scheduled service, fault analysis/troubleshooting, and potential main component or blade work on wind turbines. During a typical day, you will work at heights and in confined spaces, while being exposed to the elements of weather. At the site near Winnifred, Alberta, you will typically have shifts 5 days a week at 8-10 hours a day, but you also will have an on-call rotation schedule for off-work hours (weekends). The team here normally works in teams of 2-3 and typically will climb 1-2 turbines a day. You may be expected to travel up to 50% of the work year to work at other site locations or attend training.

More About You
  1. You will need a safety-focused mindset and your positive attitude will contribute to your ability to work in a team environment, while being motivated and taking initiative in daily tasks.
  2. You can identify solutions to issues with process of elimination.
  3. You will bring a high school diploma or equivalent and you will bring 1-2 years of transferrable mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical work background or a wind school certification.
  4. An agricultural background or work experience is a great transferrable avenue to this entry level service technician position with Vestas.
