A DAY IN THE LIFE

In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to perform scheduled maintenance, fault analysis and troubleshooting, as well as potential main component or blade repairs on wind turbines. The position involves working at significant heights and in confined spaces, often under varying weather conditions. The site, located near Medicine Hat, Alberta, consists of 98 V136 Mk 3B 3.6 MW turbines. Standard work shifts are five days per week, ranging from 8 to 10 hours per day. The role also includes participation in an on-call rotation during weekends and off-hours, with the possibility of overtime. Approximately 15% of your time may involve travel to support operations at other sites. Technicians typically work in teams of 2-3 and climb 1-2 turbines per day.

MORE ABOUT YOU

  • You will need a safety-focused mindset and your positive attitude will contribute to your ability to work in a team environment, while being motivated and taking initiative in daily tasks
  • You can identify solutions to issues with process of elimination
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent and you will bring at least 1 year of wind experience or a wind certificate or transferrable agricultural, mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical work background
