Job Summary:

The Wind Turbine Generator employee is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of wind turbine generators. This role requires expertise across mechanical, civil, and electrical disciplines to ensure the safe and efficient operation of wind turbine systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical:

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on wind turbine components such as blades, gearboxes, and nacelle assemblies
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including blade damage, bearing failures, and gearbox problems
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks like lubrication, bolt tightening, and vibration monitoring
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new wind turbine generators

Civil:

  • Inspect and maintain the structural integrity of wind turbine foundations, towers, and support structures
  • Identify and address any civil engineering concerns such as soil erosion, concrete degradation, or tower misalignment
  • Collaborate with civil engineers to develop plans for turbine upgrades, retrofits, or decommissioning
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations

Electrical:

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including generators, transformers, switchgear, and control systems
  • Perform regular testing and maintenance on electrical components to prevent failures
  • Upgrade or retrofit electrical systems to improve efficiency and reliability
  • Ensure wind turbine generators are properly connected to the electrical grid and meet grid interconnection requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 3-5 years of experience working on wind turbine generators or similar electromechanical systems
  • Strong understanding of wind turbine technology, including aerodynamics, structural design, and electrical systems
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and performing maintenance tasks
  • Ability to work at heights and in challenging outdoor environments
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Certification in wind turbine maintenance or related industry credentials preferred
