TransAlta is seeking a Wind Technician to join the Melancthon Wind Asset in Ontario. You will maintain wind turbine equipment, support operations, and work with a team to meet plant goals. A background in GE wind technology and strong electrical/mechanical knowledge is preferred.

The role is full-time, salaried, and on-site at Melancthon, ON. Applicants should have relevant certifications and a valid driver’s license, with pre-employment testing as part of the process.

Qualifikationen

• Appropriate certification or education in a related discipline, and/or proven experience and skills.
• 3–5 years of wind turbine experience preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
• Knowledge of GE wind turbine technology and strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, control, and safety systems.

Aufgaben

• Ensure optimal performance through daily maintenance, service, and repair of wind turbine equipment as part of a wind tech team.
• Support daily operations and maintenance plans to drive performance and continuous improvement.
• Assist the Supervisor and regional Manager as part of a high-performance team to achieve plant outcomes.
• Identify and mitigate risks and realize opportunities affecting outcomes and results.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, NERC, OHS, and related procedures and regulations.
