Position: WildSafeBC Community Coordinator
Location: Rossland, Trail, and Surrounding Areas
Wage: $23 per hour
Type: Contract
Hours: 540 hours, with the possibility of more hours dependent on funding
Anticipated Term: May 20, 2025, to November 30, 2025

WildSafeBC is the provincial leader in preventing conflict with wildlife through collaboration, education, and community solutions. Our message of “keeping wildlife wild and communities safe” emphasizes the important role humans play in reducing our impact on wildlife and increasing community safety. We focus on actions to avoid attracting wildlife into communities, raising awareness of human-wildlife conflict issues, and seeking solutions to reduce conflict.
The WildSafeBC Community Coordinator position offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in reducing human-wildlife conflicts locally. Essential skills include professionalism, good communication, community engagement, and the ability to work independently. Community Coordinators will attend training sessions to learn conflict-reduction strategies specific to BC wildlife species and effective community engagement techniques.
