Job summary

Gitxsan Safety Services Inc. is seeking a Medic Driver in a casual on-call capacity to support safety at various worksites and events across multiple locations.

You will transport medics and patients, document medical incidents, maintain supplies, and coordinate with safety teams to ensure swift first aid responses while complying with traffic laws and site regulations.

Qualifications

  • Must hold valid OFA1 (Basic First Aid) with Transportation Endorsement (TE).
  • S-100/185 certifications for fire safety.
  • Valid Class 5 driving license and clean driving record.
  • Minimum 6 months of prior experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Transport Medic and patients to clinics and hospitals.
  • Record detailed medical incident reports and patient information.
  • Maintain and restock medical supplies and equipment.
  • Obey traffic laws and site rules/regulations.
  • Collaborate with safety personnel to enhance medical response.
  • Assist in implementing safety measures at worksites and events.
  • Communicate incidents and needs to management and team.

We are currently seeking qualified and motivated Medics to join our team in a casual on-call capacity, supporting our commitment to safety and providing immediate medical care to employees and clients.

Job Summary:

As a Medic Driver at Gitxsan Safety Services, you will play a vital role in providing prompt and efficient medical assistance and first aid response to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at various work sites and events.

This position requires Medic Drivers to possess a valid OFA1 Certificate (Basic First Aid) with Transportation Endorsement (TE), S-100/185 certifications, a valid Class 5 Driving License. The role is on a casual on-call basis, where you will be contacted to report to work as the need arise.

Requirements/Qualifications

This position requires:

  • a valid OFA1 Certificate (Basic First Aid),
  • S-100/185 certifications (Basic Fire Suppression and Safety/Fire Entrapment Avoidance and Safety)
  • a valid Class 5 Driving License, and
  • a clean Driver's Abstract
  • a minimum of 6 months of prior experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Transportation of Medic and patients to and from tertiary medical clinics and hospitals
  • Record detailed and accurate medical incident reports, including treatment provided and patient information.
  • Maintain and restock medical supplies and equipment to ensure readiness for any emergency.
  • Obey all traffic laws and site specific rules and regulations
  • Collaborate with other safety personnel and staff to enhance overall safety and medical response effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance and support in implementing safety measures and protocols at work sites and events.
  • Communicate effectively with management and team members to keep them informed about incidents and medical requirements.
