  • Fin. Product Innovation 20\: $127,380 - $169,838 plus a performance-based incentive.

Team & Job Overview

The Small Business and Partnerships team is looking for a seasoned enthusiastic professional with strong interpersonal, influencing, and problem-solving skills to drive successful evolution and expansion of EDC’s financial institution (FI) guarantee solutions. This business and initiative owner will be responsible for leading the program of wholesale & portfolio versions of solution suite.

This initiative is responsible for:

  • Working with key stakeholders to lead the expansion and evolution of portfolio solutions within the fastest growing solution suite (by number of customers) across all sizes of exporters.
  • Ensure efficient and smooth operations on a day-to-day basis internally and with FI partners, identifying challenges and opportunities for improvements.
  • Solicit feedback, problem solve and maintain a short-, medium-, and long-term roadmap of changes.
  • Align and integrate roadmaps with the digital squads, ensure effective prioritization of business needs with security and technical foundation requirements.
  • Communicating and managing change for key internal and external stakeholders including at all levels of leadership.

Key infight and priority initiatives include:

  • Conversion of Trade Expansion Lending Program (TELP) to a guarantee platform, for multiple guarantors and multiple FIs.
  • Design and implementation of portfolio versions of the Trade and Foreign Exchange Guarantee portfolio solutions and rollout across FI partners.

This position will report directly to Vincent Fillion, VP Small Business and Partnerships.

What you will be doing:

  • Leads the multi-disciplinary squad virtual team responsible for successful operations and evolution of the portfolio solutions and has the authority to make the decisions on behalf of the team.
  • Owns the planning, costing, scheduling, baseline assumptions, outcomes and ensures benefits are clearly articulated, identifies the risks and validates assumptions.
  • Leads ideation activities and selects preferred solutions and development of the business cases.
  • Ensures the solutions will support the user needs identified and articulates the cost and benefits to proceeding.
  • Supports, coaches and challenges the teams to focus on identifying the outcomes.
  • Seeks input from experts on the team, fosters a safe environment for input, challenge and collaboration.
  • Operates with a growth mindset, advocates for the change and acts as a change ambassador for the Initiatives in all aspects.

What we are screening for:

  • Completed an Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or in a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in financial services.
  • Preference for senior resource with Director level leadership experience.
  • Solid understanding across all key aspects of EDC’s business and customer needs.
  • Strong knowledge of EDC’s guarantee solutions and the related, guaranteed FI solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex messages, trade-offs and the ability to tell a compelling story.
  • Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders and has a strong grasp of the organization’s structure, politics, and governance.
  • Brings an attitude to challenge the status quo and has a passion to push to find new solutions; also brings an experimental mindset to help drive innovation throughout the solution suite value stream.
  • Understanding of Agile principles, ability to role-model Agile behaviors and fosters an environment of innovation and trust.

Assets

  • Bilingual in both official languages (English and French).
