We are looking for energetic and motivated people to join our team of Whanau (family) support workers in theWest Aucklandarea to support tamariki (school aged children), and taitamariki (youth and teenagers) with their needs and support them to enjoy activities and help build confidence in their homes and communities. This could include going to cafes, to the movies, supporting them to look for work or to join a sports team.This is a part-time position, and the ideal candidate must be available between 3 PMto 6 PM on weekdays and Saturday full day is a Must.
Although prior experience working with children/ youth would be advantageous, this is not essential as full training is provided for these roles.
What does a Whanau Support Worker do?
In this role you would support young people in their home and community to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives. You would support them to achieve their personal dreams and goals by supporting them to do the things they want to do such as going swimming, attending sporting events, arts and crafts, movies or shopping - the list is endless!
