Job summary

West Edmonton Mall Property Inc. (West Edmonton Mall & Fantasyland Hotel) invites applications for Room Attendants at WEM Inn. You will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of hotel rooms, lobby and common areas, maintaining high standards of service and guest satisfaction.

This role requires standing for long periods, independence, and a flexible schedule to cover Mondays through Sundays. Prior housekeeping experience is an asset, and basic safety standards are expected.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand and walk for 8 hours a day.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Experience in hotel housekeeping is preferred.
• Flexible schedule with weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Clean guest rooms to WEM Inn standards.
• Vacuum, clean and dust guest rooms per policy.
• Make beds, change sheets, replace towels and toiletries.
• Perform rotation cleaning duties as required.
• Acknowledge and greet guests in public areas warmly.
• Comply with Occupational Health and Safety standards.
• Transport carts with cleaning supplies and linens to rooms.
• Stock linen rooms and deliver extra linens and supplies as needed.
• Collect and dispose of garbage from service areas per procedure.
• Deliver special requests (cots, cribs) to rooms and store items after checkout.
• Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces per WEM Inn regulations.
• Other responsibilities as required.

Room Attendants at WEM Inn are responsible for the overall cleanliness of the hotel rooms, as well as the lobby and common areas of the hotel.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cleaning guest rooms according to WEM Inn standards.
• Vacuuming, cleaning and dusting guest rooms in accordance with hotel polices and procedures.
• Making beds, changing sheets, and removing and replacing used towels and toiletries.
• Performing rotation cleaning duties as required.
• Acknowledging and greeting guests in public areas in a warm and friendly manner.
• Complying with Occupational Health and Safety Standards of the hotel.
• Transporting carts with the proper cleaning supplies, amenities, and linens to assigned guest rooms.
• Stocking linen rooms with required linens and supplies according to established procedure and delivering extra linens and supplies to guest rooms upon request.
• Collecting and disposing of garbage from the service areas according to procedure.
• Delivering special requests (cots, cribs) to guest rooms and disposing of items into appropriate storage areas once guests vacated the room.
• Using correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces in accordance with WEM Inn regulations.
• Other responsibilities as required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to stand and walk for 8 hours a day.
• Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Previous cleaning experience is an asset and candidates with a hotel housekeeping experience are preferred.
• Candidates must have a flexible schedule with an availability to work Monday-Sundays.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• There are full-time and part-time positions available that requires flexible availability.
• Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
