Shannex is seeking a compassionate and energetic Wellness Assistant (Recreation) to join their team in Moncton. Qualifications

We are searching for a Wellness Assistant (Recreation) to join our Faubourg du Mascaret team based in Moncton New Brunswick .

This is a temporary position with an end date of April 1 2026 .

About the Opportunity

  • Assisting with planning implementing and evaluating internal and external recreation programs focusing on emotional intellectual physical social and spiritual needs of the clients;
  • Conducting recreation programs in a variety of settings such as large groups small groups and one-to-one;
  • Preparing rooms materials and equipment for recreation programs;
  • Motivating and facilitating client participation in recreation programs and involvement with the community;
  • Documenting client progress evaluations admission assessments and other reports as required;
  • Maintaining accurate client participation records; analyzes data to assist in the development of appropriate programs;
  • Assisting in the training supervision and evaluation of volunteers and student placements.

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement collaboration and accountability you bring :

  • A high-school diploma or equivalent education;
  • A post-secondary education in a relative field considered a strong asset and is preferred;
  • Advanced proficiency in the English language is required proficiency in French considered an asset;
  • You are an energetic compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and has experience in programming and planning for seniors in a recreational environment;
  • Current First Aid & CPR certificate considered an asset;
  • Ability to provide a clear criminal record check upon hire;
  • Class 4 Drivers License considered an asset;
  • A passion for the healthcare sector and / or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations services and care.
