Job summary

YMCA of Southwestern Ontario is seeking a Wellness Coach & Personal Trainer to energize members and help them reach fitness goals. You will lead coaching sessions, demonstrate proper technique, and tailor programs on the fitness floor to ensure safe, effective workouts.

Start date is October, 2026. Benefits include YMCA membership, childcare/camp discounts, vacation entitlement, and a comprehensive benefits package. Must hold First Aid/CPR Level C and a Group Fitness certification.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of training/post-secondary education in Physical and/or Health Education or related field along with 1+ years related work experience or a combination of both education and experience is preferred
• Personal Training Certification is required
• Must be available to work early mornings (6am start)
• Current Standard First Aid/CPR Level C certification is required
• Group Fitness Certification and experience is an asset
• Excellent customer service skills
• Computer skills including Word & Excel & Outlook
• Current and acceptable Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening is a condition of employment for all staff and volunteers

Responsibilities

• YMCA of Southwestern Ontario policy and procedures
• Act as a YMCA ambassador, demonstrating YMCA core values in your daily work
• Provide coaching, direction and demonstrate techniques in the use of equipment and the expected outcome/benefit of so doing on the fitness floor
• Conduct Wellness Coaching sessions and individual programs
• Monitor/supervise access and use of equipment within the weight room area
• Routine maintenance/tidying of Health and Wellness Centre
• Highly physical job; will be required to manage varying amounts of weight-cleaning and moving equipment

Position: Wellness Coach & Personal Trainer

Rate of Pay:

$17.60/hour (Wellness Coach)

$25.00/hour (Personal Training)

Start Date: October, 2026
