Job summary

Liburdi Turbine Services is seeking a full‑time Welding Technologist/Technician with a strong background in welding processes and automation. The role includes significant travel within North America and internationally, often with short notice, and regular hours Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

• College level education required.
• Technician or Technologist Welding Diploma required.
• 1-2 years’ welding experience preferred (co-op acceptable).
• Knowledge in metallurgy an asset.
• Knowledge in FANUC programming an asset.
• Knowledge of PAW, LASER, GTAW processes an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop new welding techniques and procedures.
• Utilize high precision robots with GTAW, PAW, Variable Polarity PAW and LASER welding power supplies.
• Develop weld programs to provide turnkey welding solutions.
• Prepare and set up weld test coupons.
• Monitor welding process for quality and safety.
• Weld materials such as titanium, nickel- or cobalt-based alloys.
• Document welding parameters and results.
• Work with customers to demonstrate technology.

Job description

We are currently seeking a candidate who is qualified for the role of full-time Welding Technologist / Technician. Regular travel within North America and internationally is required and is expected to account for at least 50% of the role. Travel may be required with as little as 48 hours’ notice. The hours will typically be Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Base salary:$60,000 - $65,000 / year (Plus applicable travel premiums)

Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to):

• Developing new welding techniques and procedures
  
• Utilizing high precision robots with GTAW, PAW, Variable Polarity PAW and LASER welding power supplies
  
• Developing weld programs in order to provide our customers with turn-key welding solutions
