Job summary

Multimatic in Ontario is seeking a co‑op maintenance student to assist in solving production-related maintenance issues and perform repairs across plant and grounds. You will monitor weld processes, document equipment changes, and participate in the Preventative Maintenance Program to reduce downtime.

Strong communication and problem‑solving skills are essential. The role supports assembly, facilities, and press/toolroom teams, with opportunities to learn new technologies and improve equipment

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary co‑op program related to the field.
• Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems and tools is an asset.
• Experience with mechanical systems is an asset.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
• Basic knowledge of welding process (GMAW).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good problem solving techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist in solving maintenance related problems with minimum interruption to production.
• Perform all maintenance and repair work in either the plant or grounds as assigned.
• Ensure all weld quality specifications are met, by continuously monitoring the weld processes on the equipment assigned.
• Troubleshoot all aspects of the weld process as required.
• Assist in maintaining up to date documentation of all equipment. This includes documenting all of the changes to the equipment in MVP.
• Actively participate in the Preventative Maintenance Program, and downtime reduction process. This includes following the PMP schedule and completing the PMP checklists.
• Participate in development and implementation of latest technologies to improve productivity and/or quality.
• Make recommendations to improve equipment efficiency and cost reduction. This includes manufacturing, repairs and installations of parts, components, services and equipment.
• Maintain clean and safe working conditions.
• Actively participate in the preparation of safety and operation procedures.
• Provide support to the Assembly Support Department, Facilities Department and Press/Toolroom as required.

This job posting is for an existing vacancy. The total cash compensation range for this position is expected to be:
$17.60 - $25.48
