Job summary

OPENAIRE INC is seeking a Welding Supervisor to lead a team of welders and fitters in producing custom aluminum skylight and roofing components. The role requires ensuring work meets high quality, safety, and efficiency standards while complying with CSA W47.2 and W59.2.

You will train, mentor, and coordinate efforts in a fast-paced production environment, collaborating with engineering, quality control, and project management to resolve technical challenges and maintain a safe workplace.

Qualifications

• CWB Supervisory Certification in aluminum welding required.
• 5+ years welding/fabrication experience in aluminum, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong blueprint reading and welding symbol knowledge; fabrication processes.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and maintain high quality and accountability.
• Experience in jigging, fitting, and assembly of custom components is an asset.

Job description

Job Overview:

The Welding Supervisor will lead a team of welders and fitters in the production of custom aluminum skylight and roofing system components. This role requires ensuring that all welding work is performed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency, while maintaining compliance with CWB requirements. The Supervisor will play a key role in training, mentoring, and coordinating team efforts in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of welders, and fitters.
• Ensure all welding work complies with CSA W47.2 and W59.2 standards and company quality requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications, ensuring work is carried out accurately.
• Monitor and inspect welding and assembly work for quality assurance and compliance.
• Provide hands‑on training, coaching, and mentorship to team members.
• Coordinate workflow, set priorities, and ensure deadlines are met in a fast‑paced production environment.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality control, and project management teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Enforce all health and safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in welding practices, assembly methods, and productivity.

Qualifications:
