Our client is a leading manufacturer of custom-built metal fabricated parts. We are seeking a Welding Manufacturing Engineer in the Milton, Cambridge, or Guelph, ON area. Candidates should have experience in metal fabrication process improvement, setting up customized production lines, capacity planning, line modifications, and equipment relocation for new projects. A clear criminal check is required.
The Welding Manufacturing Engineer role involves working closely with Production and Engineering teams to enhance floor capacity for various sizes, tolerances, and custom fabrication jobs. Responsibilities include capacity planning, equipment relocation, process flow mapping, and supporting New Product Development. The role also emphasizes welding process improvements, SOP updates, welding best practices, and safety compliance.
The Welding Process Engineer should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in welding process improvement, leading continuous improvement projects, line balancing, and applying Lean methodologies to welding procedures. Experience in bending, cutting, forming, and writing welding procedures is highly preferred. A degree in Mechanical Engineering, EIT, or a diploma as a Welding Technologist is desirable. Excellent English communication skills are a MUST. A clear criminal check is required.
