Minimum 3 years of weld inspection experience as a CSA W178.2 Level II.

Welding Inspector CSA W178.2 lvl II, CGSB MT lvl II

CIC Inspection & Consulting Ltd. is currently hiring a CSA W178.2 Level II Weld Inspector, CGSB lvl II Magnetic Particle Technician with CSA W59 & W47 endorsements for a full-time, permanent position based in the Edmonton area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented professional to join a respected and safety-focused inspection team. This role requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable daily transportation to and from the Head Office in Edmonton, Alberta. Additional non-destructive testing CGSB certifications are an asset.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret and apply owner and client specifications
Ensure compliance with internal quality control standards and procedures
Confirm dimensions of fabricated components
Conduct visual inspections of welds
Verify material grade & size
Confirm component orientation and dimensions
Conduct NDE (MPI/LPI)
Maintain inspection logs and daily tracking sheets
Generate inspection reports for every job
Evaluate and record welding defects; assess against acceptance criteria
Monitor adherence to Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
Notify the Quality Control Lead of any quality or compliance issues
Collaborate with welders and fabrication crews to address quality concerns

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 3 years of weld inspection experience as a CSA W178.2 Level II
CSA W178.2 Level II certification
CGSB level II MPI
Familiarity with Structural Drawings
Strong knowledge of inspection procedures, code compliance, and industry standards
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly detail-oriented and organized
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Ability to pass a drug test
Proficiency in English (verbal and written)
