Our client is a leading custom fabricator of metal fabricated parts with several sites and plants in Ontario. They are seeking a Welding & Fabrication NPI Quality & Engineering Lead for their site in the St. Mary’s - Stratford - Kitchener, ON area. Candidates must be experienced in overseeing Quality for New Product Introduction (NPI) involving CMM, Welding & Fabrication Processes. Lean Six Sigma experience is preferred.
Role Overview : This leadership, hands-on role involves overseeing Quality and Manufacturing Engineering for welding and custom fabrication processes. Responsibilities include leading Quality Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, evaluating existing welding, cutting, bending, and fabrication processes, KPIs, SOPs, Best Practices, conducting Gap Analyses using FMEA, DMAIC, and other tools, and implementing corrective actions to optimize product and process quality, efficiency, and safety. You will manage all welding certifications, perform line and weld quality audits, and handle external audits by regulatory bodies and customs.
Candidate Profile : Ideally, candidates will have 3-4 years of supervisory or leadership experience managing teams of Industrial, Quality, or CI Engineers, with 7-8 years of hands-on experience in Process Improvement, Lean Six Sigma, and metal fabrication welding (must have), including welding inspection and audits.
