Job Description:

Name of the position: Senior Welding Engineer

Size of the team: 5

Why the position is open: Been awarded different project for the upcoming years that require more people

Context of the project: Our client manufactures heavy steel components for the nuclear industry. Among those, there are pressure vessels and boilers to be delivered for Pickering Refurbishment or the new GE SMR. We are looking to add new mechanical engineers specialized in welding to help the conception of those new components.

  • Develop and maintain welding procedures and supporting documentation to meet quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve non‑conformances in collaboration with quality, engineering, and production teams.
  • Design and implement custom tooling, fixtures, and welding solutions to support safe and efficient shop operations.
  • Conduct product reviews and provide input on estimating, scheduling, and resource planning.
  • Lead and support the development of welding processes for new applications and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain records of welding equipment, consumables, and best practices for future reference.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to peers and shop personnel as needed.
