Job summary

University of Ottawa invites applications for a Regular Part-Time Professor in the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering. The position teaches Selected Topics I: Welding Design, Fabrication and Quality Control, with emphasis on welding processes, design for strength, QA, and NDT.

The appointment is Regular Part-Time, in person on Main Campus, with a schedule of Monday and Wednesday evenings.

Qualifications

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong background in mechanical engineering and active research in the subject.
• Licensed or eligible to be licensed from one of Canada’s engineering regulators.
• Teaching mode: in person.

Responsibilities

• Teach the course: Welding Design, Fabrication and Quality Control (Selected Topics I).
• In-person instruction at Main Campus with fixed schedule (Mon 17:30-19:00, Wed 17:30-19:00).
• Ensure alignment with CSA W47.1, CSA W178.2 and CWB standards and engage students in practical welding practices.
