Job summary

Motor Coach Industries in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a skilled welder-fabricator for a unionized role that builds coach components and frames using MIG, TIG, and STICK welding. You will follow detailed specs, ensure quality, and work with blueprints to fabricate assemblies.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in manufacturing or automotive settings, auto body experience with MIG/TIG, and familiarity with solvents and pre-treatment chemicals. Training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or automotive environments.
• Auto body background with MIG/TIG experience preferred.
• Experience with solvents and pre-treatment chemicals.
• Experience using air plasma and oxy acetylene equipment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricates metal coach components and frames using MIG, TIG and STICK welding techniques and strict quality guidelines.
• Grind and solder coach components.
• Interpret welding process specs, blueprints, drawings and work instructions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

POSITION OVERVIEW

This unionized position works with various types of metal and uses a variety of welding techniques to fabricate coach components and frames.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Fabricates metal coach components and frames using MIG, TIG and STICK welding techniques and strict quality guidelines.

• Grind and solder coach components.

• Interpret welding process specs, blueprints, drawings and work instructions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• 2+ years of demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing or automotive environment is preferred.

• Previous experience in an automotive setting, particularly an auto body background with MIG and TIG welding experience, is preferred.

• Experience working with solvents and pre-treatment chemicals.

• Experience operating air plasma and oxy acetylene equipment is required
