Job summary

Morskate Manufacturing in Ponoka, Alberta, is expanding its fabrication shop and seeking welders from first year apprentices to journeymen to join our team and grow with us.

You will weld structural steel and agricultural equipment using GMAW, GTAW, and SMAW, read blueprints, and participate in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment with hands-on training and clear opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Current CWB certification (Flat Solid Wire & Metal Core).
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools accurately.
• Knowledge of welding processes, materials, and metal fabrication.
• Detail-oriented with pride in producing quality workmanship.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Effective English communication skills (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding work instructions).
• Legally eligible to work in Canada. LMIA sponsorship is not available.
• Based in the Ponoka / Central Alberta Area or willing to relocate.

Schedule

• Day Shift (currently 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)8–12 hour shifts, depending on production requirements

OR

• Night Shift (currently 4:00 p.m. – 3:00/ 4:00 a.m.)

• 8–12 hour shifts, depending on production requirements

We offer competitive starting wages beginning at $30-$45 per hour, with final rates determined by your experience, skill level, and how well you align with the role. We appreciate dedication and commitment, and we conduct thorough performance reviews after three months and annually to acknowledge outstanding work, provide feedback and support employee growth.
