Qualifications

  • 5+ years of pipeline or pressure piping welding experience.

What You’ll Like About This Job

FortisBC is hiring experienced welders for gas transmission and distribution projects in Burnaby, BC. This position includes both shop-based fabrication and field pipeline welding involving hot taps, fire welds, and pressure systems. Successful candidates will possess a Red Seal or equivalent welder certification and demonstrate advanced proficiency with arc and oxy-fuel techniques.

  • Advancement to Fitter Welder 1 after 12 months

What You’ll Need

  • Journeyperson Welder Certificate (minimum Level B)
  • 5+ years of pipeline or pressure piping welding experience
  • Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Ability to qualify to CSA Z662 and Company weld tests (OAW-1, OAW-2, OAW-3)
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and performing pressure tests

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • CWB tickets for SMAW and GMAW
  • Experience with regulator vault installations and pipeline leak repairs
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently in all weather conditions
