Job summary

AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring experienced Welders/Spot Welders for a 12-hour shift, 5 days per week on projects in Southern Ontario. This temporary contract may not suit someone seeking full-time employment.

You will earn $35 per hour before overtime, plus a non-taxed $30 per day meal allowance when lodging is required, with travel paid and hotel accommodations provided when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in welding or spot welding in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings and interpret specs.
• Set up, monitor, operate and troubleshoot machines.
• Inspect parts to specifications and adjust tooling as needed.
• Must be physically able to bend, lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Perform welding or spot welding tasks as required.
• Read and interpret blueprints/drawings.
• Set up, monitor, troubleshoot machines and adjust tools as needed.
• Ensure parts meet specifications and maintain a safe workspace.

Job description

AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring experienced Welders//Spot Welders/Machine Operators for an upcoming assignment in Southern Ontario. This position will require you to work 12 hour shifts, 5 days per week when assigned to a project.

***Please note this is a temporary contract position, so it may not be suitable to someone currently working full time***

You will earn:

• $35 per hour before overtime
• $30 per day non-taxed meal allowance (when lodging is required)
• Paid Travel (up to 4 hours when lodging required)
• Hotel Accommodations Provided (when required)

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ability to operate machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with welding or spot welding.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings
• Set up, monitor, operate and troubleshoot assigned machines
• Inspect parts to specifications
• Make adjustments or tool changes as necessary
• Housekeeping duties as required for a safe work environment

Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in manufacturing environment
• Welding or Spot Welding experience
• Experience in steel or metal fabrication industry (an asset)
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Physically able to bend, lift, stand and reach
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision as well as part of a team
• Basic computer skills
• Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal)
