Job summary

AFIMAC Canada is hiring experienced Welders, Spot Welders and Machine Operators for an upcoming assignment in Southern Ontario. This position requires you to work 12-hour shifts, 5 days per week, on a project basis.

This temporary contract may not suit someone currently employed full-time. You will earn a competitive hourly wage and lodging/travel arrangements are provided as needed to support project needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing environment.
• Welding or Spot Welding experience.
• Experience in steel or metal fabrication industry (an asset).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Physically able to bend, lift, stand and reach.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills.
• Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Operate machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Welding or spot welding experience.
• Read and interpret blueprints/drawings.
• Set up, monitor, operate and troubleshoot assigned machines.
• Inspect parts to specifications.
• Make adjustments or tool changes as necessary.
• Maintain safe work environment through housekeeping.

Job description

AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring experienced Welders//Spot Welders/Machine Operators for an upcoming assignment in Southern Ontario. This position will require you to work 12 hour shifts, 5 days per week when assigned to a project.

***Please note this is a temporary contract position, so it may not be suitable to someone currently working full time***

You will earn:

• $35 per hour before overtime
• $30 per day non-taxed meal allowance (when lodging is required)
• Paid Travel (up to 4 hours when lodging required)
• Hotel Accommodations Provided (when required)

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ability to operate machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with welding or spot welding.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings
• Set up, monitor, operate and troubleshoot assigned machines
• Inspect parts to specifications
• Make adjustments or tool changes as necessary
• Housekeeping duties as required for a safe work environment
