Job Summary
MSW is looking for a skilled welder to cut and join metals and other materials at our location in Milton, WV. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision. Your job is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure. A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all precautions. the ideal candidate will also have steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of differentkinds of metaland theirpropertiesis essential.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
To be successful as a Welder, you'll be expected to:

  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and performs all work by established safety procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and effectively repair any problems identified during an inspection.
  • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications.
  • Operate angel grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
  • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces.
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
  • repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
  • Estimate time and material costs on repairs and requisitions of new parts.
  • Advise supervisor immediately if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Inspect the quality of outside/supplier repairs and or rebuilds. Assesses structural damage and assigns needed repairs utilizing the most appropriate method(s).

Qualifications:
Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit as a Welder at MSW:

  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience (additional experience preferred)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license and must have a clean driving record.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
