Welder

As a Welder, you will manufacture detailed parts and assemblies from blueprints, sketches, drawings, and verbal instructions using a variety of tools and equipment, with a focus on the joining of metals by welding or brazing. Basic knowledge of metals and welding/brazing equipment is essential.

Your Challenge:

  1. Determine how to set up the work area based on instructions received.
  2. Operate metal removing and joining tools and machines, often using mathematical calculations.
  3. Train others in the welding trade when directed.

What You Bring:

  • Minimum of 3 years of Welder/Fitter experience and/or completion of a certified welding course.
  • Current CWB welding tickets or ability to attain them for stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminum in SMAW, GMAW/FCAW, GTAW processes, multiple positions.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering/shop drawings, sketches, and AWS welding symbols.
  • Ability to work from manufacturing routings or verbal instructions.
  • Understanding of distortion control and ability to weld within a tolerance range from 1/8" to 1.010" as required by drawings.
  • Experience working with aluminum, steel, and stainless steel per CSA, W47.1, W47.2, W59.1, W59.2 standards.
  • Understanding of ABS and Lloyds welding codes is an asset.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance.
